Yes, those are the blue Power Ranger's nun chucks. He screamed when we took them away, and around here, we'd rather see a ninja baby than a screaming baby. If you'd prefer the alternative, please see October 28.As much as the whole "Beggar's Night" concept irritates me, both big kids had fun. Conor was very worried that we were going to people's houses we didn't know, so consequently we only made it to 11 houses before heading home. He also wasn't sure if it was okay for people to recognize him, so we either wore his mask or hid until I convinced him it was okay. Ellie loved it. It was beautiful weather, so we sat on the porch to give out candy. She sat out with me, and kept running to the end of the driveway "just to check". She was bouncing off of the walls by the end of the night!

I had a big issue with trick-or-treating on Beggar's Night, especially after living in a place where the magic night was Halloween itself. And providing a joke was a bit odd, but I grew to enjoy the joke bit. After all, when I answer my door, why should I just hand over my treat without seeing a trick?
I love Con- or excuse me, the Blue Power Ranger's pose in the top picture! And very nice sparkle touch on Ellie's witch hat!
I love the ninja pose in the top picture. I hate the idea of beggar's night too. I tend to give more candy to the kids that don't tell a joke.
