March 31, 2008

Today Rowan watched Jon spend his vacation day changing the light bulb. It was very distracting.

March 30, 2008

Dear Sarah,

You know that tent you gave me for my birthday? Yeah, I never, ever use it.

Love, Conor

March 29, 2008

Track and field day at the Wilson house. This is the standing broad jump. Conor and Jon are the blue markers, and Ellie is the red.

March 28, 2008

Another picture of reading to Rowan before school. Just because I love them.

March 27, 2008

Here's the scene while picking up the kids today. That's right, it's the end of March. It snowed all day.

And for those of you who feel the day's post isn't complete without a picture of one of my kids (Hi, Dad!), this is Ellie getting ready for Friday night. I tried to get her dancing, but she caught on to me too soon. (She's still not nearly as excited as Sarah and I).

You'd look like this too if your first tooth had been coming in for a day or so and your mom had the nerve to put you in the high chair while she made your breakfast.

March 25, 2008

Tonight we started swimming lessons. Ellie was excited, and Conor was nervous. He told me this morning that he really wanted to like them, but he was afraid he wouldn't. The picture is blurry, but you can tell they were both pretty happy to be there. And they both loved it.

March 24, 2008

Sometimes I forget to take a picture until bedtime, so this is what you get to see. I know, I know, it's a thrilling life.

Happy Easter!

I have to admit, this boy's got style.

March 22, 2008

The Wilson cousins.

March 21, 2008

Friday was a very busy day.
The Easter Bunny came a little early to Grandma and Grandpa Wilson's house. (He came while Rowan was napping).

Rowan got to see his godmother.

And we celebrated three April birthdays!

March 20, 2008

These are bird and insect books from Grandma. Ellie got creeped out by the insect one, but Conor tried to read every name of every bird in his. Did I mention he tried to read EVERY name? In the whole book? While I was trying to get something done?

March 19, 2008

Within one hour of returning home Wednesday, this was the scene. (It would have been sooner, but he had to pick up the court first. We left the toy room kind of messy).

March 18, 2008

Today we played at Grandma and Grandpa's and went to a different playland for lunch. We head home tomorrow. We've had a great Break, but there are two kindergarteners who miss their Dad. And the boy kindergartener is getting homesick. He'll never admit that, but it's true!

March 17, 2008

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today for Spring Break we (among other things) went to the museum,

rode the carousel,

and went to lunch at a playland.

Guess where the playland was!!

Spring break presents from Grandma and Grandpa. They got opened within 10 minutes of our arrival. Two things Mom would never buy: Crocs and a UNI basketball uniform!

March 15, 2008

As much as she loves him, she's only good for a few spoonfuls. Then she's done.

March 14, 2008

Friday was the last day of school before Spring Break. These are before school. It is very hard not to smile while saying "Spring Break"!

March 13, 2008

I don't know who won. Actually, I think maybe they were on the same team. And just pretend Conor's pants are more yellow. Then he'd be wearing red, blue and yellow. His favorite team is Kansas this week.

We played outside after school today, and all enjoyed the awesome weather.
Well, maybe not all of us. I'm pretty sure he just doesn't feel that he looks as good in Mary-Claire's hat as she used to.

March 12, 2008

Just a few of the outtakes:

I love this last one. Even when he's eating the sign, she thinks he's the cutest thing ever. I hope she feels that way when he plays in her stuff while she's at school.

March 11, 2008

This is another one of those baby things I don't know what we ever did without. It's kind of like a self-contained Johnny Jump Up. Which is good, since we don't have any door frames downstairs.

March 10, 2008

We said goodbye to the little swing on Monday. You'd think maybe that would make us a little sad, but actually, yippee!!

March 9, 2008

The gymnast.

March 8, 2008

We have a pre-digital picture of Conor and Ellie in each side of the sink. If I were ambitious I'd scan it in. (Not likely).

March 7, 2008

Rowan tried on his new sun hat. (Yes, we are desperate for nicer weather). Hopefully he grows into it just a bit before June.

March 6, 2008

It's not like it was warm here on Thursday. I think they (along with most of the kids in the neighborhood) decided to just ignore the weather.

PS - While we don't require them to wear a helmet while swinging, one or more child usually has one on. Then you don't have to worry about it when you go from biking to scootering to swinging, then back to biking again.

March 5, 2008

We're having a not very picture-worthy week. Um, Rowan still loves those toast things.

March 4, 2008

Eight years ago on Tuesday it was sunny and 69 degrees. Not so this year. (Photo by Ellie).

He is his father's child.

March 2, 2008

There are times when I think that the rest of our family could disappear, and these two would be just fine on their own. They kind of have their own mutual adoration society going on.

March 1, 2008

It was warm enough and clear enough to play outside a bit today. Both Conor and Ellie got their scooters out, and were very excited that they remembered how to ride them.
