September 25, 2010

In an effort to help the rest of the house sleep in, Rowan and I went for doughnuts this morning. (Did you know Dahl's doesn't open until 7:00?) My plan worked, because everyone else was still sleeping when we got home. And Rowan saw the sunrise. (Did you know that it is slightly less beautiful when Rowan is narrating it?)

September 24, 2010

Dear Aunt Sarah, Thank you for the RJ shirt!

September 23, 2010

A little pre-football football.

September 22, 2010

He's finished dinner. He's cleared his place. But he's still hungry.

September 21, 2010

Conor was doing his math homework at the kitchen table. I heard him say under his breath "Oh, a quiet spot". I assumed that his homework mentioned that, because Conor could do his homework at a Midnight Oil concert. Here's the spot he found:
When I saw his homework later, it said nothing about a quiet spot. Apparently that was Conor's decision.

September 20, 2010

She gets it from her aunt.

September 19, 2010

That's right. It's the Battle of the Butts.

September 18, 2010

Saturday was a Runchey Reunion of sorts!

The siblings:

The "3s", as my mom says. I think there are 23 in total, currently, but someone else should check my math.

Rowan kept referring to these guys as the "babies".

September 17, 2010

A last minute trip to Fareway for Rowan, Dynaco and me.

September 16, 2010

The 3rd grade project for September is to create a continent. They have all month to work on it, and both have actually done a little at a time on several days. Some more happily than others.

September 15, 2010

I've said it several times before, but she really is the best babysitter!

September 14, 2010

This year the big kids started to walk to school on their own. There's usually at least one neighbor who joins them. (And Conor doesn't complain nearly as much as you might think).

September 13, 2010

Every once in awhile (usually when I've just sat down with my book), this guy will crawl onto my lap and tell me he needs snuggles or "some pah-ttention".

September 12, 2010

It's football season. Conor's team won 18-0. He had fun, and slept well that night.

September 11, 2010

What's that? The Iowa vs. Iowa State game was Saturday? Hmmm... we wouldn't know anything about that.

September 10, 2010

Gymnastics are Wednesdays and Fridays now. I drop her off both days, and then Jon and I take turns picking her up. It's amazing how much progress she's made in the last 4 months.

September 9, 2010

The kids' math curriculum is called "Everyday Mathematics". Coincidentally, there's math homework pretty much every day.

September 8, 2010

Yes, he had oreos today. Why do you ask?

September 7, 2010

The last CSA of the season. (Stupid flooding).

September 6, 2010

Once you turn 3, you get to be in the movie night rotation.

September 5, 2010

It's crazy how the DS is still popular around here. Well, with one person anyway.

September 4, 2010

I did a terrible job of taking pictures at the Lawnmower Party. I'm hoping that my sisters remedy that for me.

Just 3 of them this year. And approximately 87.5% of my conversations with Conor involved him telling me how since Bailey wasn't there all he could do was wander around.

Waiting for stuffed animals to drop from the sky. Seriously.

September 3, 2010

I wish I'd taken a picture a few weeks ago, back when they weren't icky looking and I still took care of them. But they're still better than weeds.

September 2, 2010

(Star Wars + graphic novels) * no one is home to play = easy to reach your goal of 10 minutes of reading every day

September 1, 2010

Fortunately for you, they're both good guys. (Unless you're a bad guy, then too bad for you).
