We finished the birthday cupcakes today. For future reference, the ones with black and/or red frosting are the most fun to watch other people eat.

The crib came down and the big boy bed is up. There were no tears on anyone's part, and the crib is in the garage ready to be given away. Rowan "napped" in his new bed, and then had no problem crashing that night. He didn't even flinch when Conor checked that his alarm was set - with the radio turned all the way up, not all the way down like he'd thought.

Jon and Rowan bought a mattress for Rowan's big boy bed. That means the crib stuff is starting to come down, and we'll say goodbye to the fishies!

It was "Meet the Teacher Night" at school. We could take the kids supplies up and find their room and their lockers. It's also the night that I take all my pictures around the school.

Conor got his first professional haircut today at SportClips. Jon could hardly watch without laughing, because Conor must have just said "sure" to whatever was offered. He ended up with the whole package: shampoo, hot towel, neck and shoulder massage. He liked it. He didn't like my asking if the girl was cute. "I don't know, ask Dad" was all the answer I got. Here's the before and after:

Ellie will be the "Reader of the Week" at the library during the week of Aug 30. We had to stop by to fill out some forms and pick up her certificate!

Bailey and Jaden came to visit for a few days, and Grandma and Grandpa came too. They stayed at a hotel with a pool, so everyone got to swim!

Class lists were posted on Monday, so we headed to school to check them out. Conor and Ellie are in the same class this year. We didn't request that (for the first time), so we were pretty surprised to see it. We'll take one more year of it!
