April 30, 2008

Ellie brought home the Dr. Seuss homework bag today. I have to admit, we did the bare minimum (we don't care for Dr. Seuss too much around here). She came up with all of the "-at" words on her "-at hat" by herself.

C and E didn't have school on Friday. He was at a friend's house, so she and I made shrinky dink charms. Well, she did. I just helped.

Prince Conor and Princess Ellie just finished a two week fairy tale unit. Ellie still likes to hear about princesses, even though she "just doesn't like to dress up like them anymore". We could lend any of our fairy tale books to the class, so we sent in 6 or so, including The Paper Bag Princess. Their teacher read that one to the class, which Ellie thought was great, especially since the note inside is addressed to "Princess Ellie." (Thanks, Mary-Claire)!

The Running Game, as I understand it, is played like this. Player One sits on Conor's bed. Player Two jumps onto the bed, and then Player One tells Player Two what (s)he liked about said player's jump. Then you switch places.

I think if you hit the wall, you're disqualified. We don't play the Running Game anymore.

Tonight was the last night of swimming lessons for this term. Both C and E passed Level 1, which they are excited about. (I think you just have to get in the water to pass, but i won't tell them that). Ellie will miss it, Conor is thrilled to be done. We got our season pass to the pool today, so it's good they both passed!

Even Jon knows to take pictures more often now!

Why I am currently grounded from any and all crafting materials, as well as any writing utensils including but not limited to pencils, markers and crayons. By Ellie Wilson.

April 19, 2008

We made May Day baskets on Saturday. And yes, I know it's not even really close to the end of April. But if you mention something like that in passing to Ellie, you'd better be prepared to follow through. So ours are done.

This picture also explains why there's not many of Conor lately. He always looks uncomfortable, so we don't get his picture too often.

Crabby baby. (Until Conor, Ellie and Jon get home. Then he's all smiley and dancey).

April 17, 2008

Thursday was spring craft at the library. Ellie made a butterfly, and Conor made a bumblebee.

Mondays are gymnastics days this year.

April 13, 2008

Today was a pretty uneventful day (the best kind). It was the last day of kindergarten RE (Sunday School) for the year. After that we played. I think Conor and Ellie have just decided that it's spring, no matter what the weather actually is. They were outside a lot. Then again, the neighbor kids were all home, so that may have had something to do with it.

Rowan still loves to stand. Today Jon propped him against the back of the chair so he could be on his own. He knows how cool he is. (Rowan, that is).

April 12, 2008

The best part is that this was on his head for a good ten minutes, and he either didn't notice or didn't care.

April 11, 2008

Conor was Superstar of the Week this week. He got to take some toys in to have at the "Conor Center", he picked out some pictures to show everyone, and they wrote a story about him: (I have 5 people in my family. I like soccer! I am good at math.) Jon asked him about the soccer part, because he doesn't really like it. "Well, it's in spring, and I like spring". Okay.
The best part was that on Friday, Jon, Rowan and I went to school to hear Conor read his "favorite" book, (I think at our house that means "the first one I see") which happened to be Seven Blind Mice. Then the class got to interview us. "Mr. Wilson, what is your favorite color?" Jon couldn't handle the pressure and copied my answers twice! (Pizza is our favorite food, and pineapple is our favorite fruit)!
Ellie is next week, and she's already practicing reading stories. She's not nervous, just excited!

Stripey Wilson twins. (Note: Please read in a high-pitched, sing-songy voice. That's how it's done).

April 9, 2008

I set out to get a picture of Rowan and his 1 1/2 teeth. After 135 pictures, I had two in which you could kind of see them. This is the best one. (In case you can't tell, it's his bottom front ones)!

April 8, 2008

We are easily entertained.

April 7, 2008

Tonight I had a PTO meeting at school. I'm one of the volunteer coordinators for next year, and I'm thinking I may have taken on more than I wanted to. I did learn that class lists for next year will come home at the end of April, so it was a very productive night!

April 6, 2008

Sunday wasn't quite as nice as Saturday, but it was still better than snow. Please note Jon's amazing basketball skills. He's improved since his youth, even. (Gotta stay ahead of Conor). You can also just see the 3 point line. It's a little faint, and is among the many hopscotches, but it's there.

April 5, 2008

Today we went to Village Inn for breakfast (without Grandpa Runchey - this was the source of much discussion). We planned on going right after Rowan woke up from his first nap - normally around 9:15. Of course that meant that today he slept until 10:00. He enjoyed his crackers though.

April 4, 2008

Friday was beautiful, so we played outside. And cleaned out the garage a little!

Friday, April 4, 2008

April 3, 2008

So I didn't take any pictures on Thursday. I'm not sure why. It can't be that nothing exciting happened, because that's certainly never stopped me before. Maybe I just didn't want to document the snow we had. Anyway, no picture from 4/3/08, but remember this?
Yeah, me neither.
