Rowan is far more interested in Sesame Street than Conor and Ellie ever were. One of his first requests almost every morning is to "watch Sesame Street all day long".

We actually have big enough trees now that we can make acceptable leaf piles. And for about 3 minutes this week, it was dry enough to enjoy them.

Today was Conor's last football game. It was sunny and 62 degrees, so therefore Conor was warm enough for shorts and a t-shirt. The rest of us had coats, hoods and hats because of the wind. His team finished 6-0, and he's sad to see it end. Pretty big change from the beginning of the season when Jon had to threaten him to get him out of the car at practice.
Here's one of his team's touchdowns. It was a pretty long pass, and a longer run, although it may not look like it.

I realize that my high school and college football watching experiences may have left me a bit spoiled, but it was too darn cold for football on Sunday. Unfortunately, flip flop clinic was too crowded, so we didn't get to stay there and watch.

We have a lot of these Brain Quest books. I happened to find the "2 to 3" version while I was looking for winter clothes for Rowan, so I got them out. I kind of expected them to be ripped to shreds or used as roads for cars. It turns out that he loves them. They're some of his favorite books.

Quarterback again! He threw for a touchdown, and an interception. When his coach wanted him to play quarterback in the second half, Conor asked not to. That interception had him worried.

I'd love to tell you that the texture will develop his fine motor skills, and that the vocabulary he learns while scooping will increase his literacy level, and that the big and little measuring cups will give him an advantage in math, but really, it's this: I got 35 minutes to make a grocery list and read the newspaper.September 30, 2009
Finally, finally, the grocery store has smores poptarts in stock. That fact alone makes Conor pleasant in the morning.

All three kids went to the dentist on Tuesday. We've been reading dentist books and playing dentist, so I figured Rowan would be fine, especially after watching the other two. I was wrong. Utterly, totally, completely wrong. On the plus side, he screamed so hard that his mouth was wide open for the dentist to check his teeth.
No cavities or problems for anyone!

It was Jon's movie night, so that means football. These two were not thrilled, so they ended up playing. And yes, those are big boy underpants. That day went well. Today.... ugh.
