School got out an hour early today, so C and E took advantage and played outside for a bit. Ellie made a fort with a neighbor.

Conor played football. "Don't worry about the ball, Mom. The package said, 'As tough as the conditions you play in' so it will be just fine!"

The kids' winter party had to be rescheduled because of a snow day, so we had it on Friday instead. They recited their original poem: The 20 Days of Winter, decorated Christmas cookies, played a penguin game, and made a snowman thermomter. (Wow, they must have a fabulous homeroom mom).

I may have created a monster. Tonight the big kids were picking up Rowan's toys for me. I realized I hadn't taken a picture today, so I grabbed the camera. Conor saw me and said "You could take my picture. Then as the caption you could put 'Conor learns to use the rope to pick up'." So there you go.

The best part is that after I took the picture, Conor continued learning to use the rope to pick up. I heard Ellie ask him (in a voice she must have learned from me) "Are you picking up?" Conor said "I'm playing pick up with the rope." She answered "Well are you working?" His answer: "Well it doesn't feel like I'm working."

They're trying to explain to Rowan that he can't touch the DS. He just didn't get it.
