Rowan had his 12 month appointment on Tuesday. He weighed 20 pounds, which is heavy enough to turn the carseat around. I had been saying I wasn't going to yet, because it reclines better facing the back, but between the three shots, the finger prick and the ear infection, I thought he could use some good news. He liked it, I think, because he talked the whole way home and pointed at all the new things he could see. The downside (for him) is that he can't see Conor anymore.

You'll notice the ball he's holding onto tightly. We keep one in the stroller and one in the carseat. "Ball. Ball. Ball. Ball. Ball. Ball."

What a good Labor Day - beautiful weather and all the neighbor kids were home and could play!

The best part about having cousins is that you have somebody to play with, and even though you haven't seen each other for a year, you can go off and play with them as soon as they get there. No warmup time needed.
The worst part about having cousins is you have to say goodbye. It was a sad trip home today.

Saturday was the Lawnmower party. I'm not sure, but I think this was the 31st annual celebration. I don't think I've missed too many. I mean sure, there were the two or three years around junior high when it was embarrassing, but I was still there. And last year I was home with a 3 day old baby, but I still sent representatives. It takes a really big deal for any of my siblings to miss it.

On Friday we left for Cedar Falls not long after the kids got home from school. We got there in time to go out for pizza (at Z's, of course). The Crusher was in the garage (for his own protection) and Rowan made his car noise everytime he saw it.
